Southwest Traders, Inc. Ernst & Young - Entrepreneur of the Year Award 1999

The Entrepreneur Of The Year® (EOY) awards program was created in the United States in a single Midwestern city by Ernst & Young in 1986 to honor entrepreneurs whose ingenuity and perseverance have created and sustained successful, growing business ventures. To be eligible for the award the nominee must be an owner/manager primarily responsible for the recent performance of a privately held company that is at least 2 years old. Founders of public companies are eligible, provided the founder is still active in top management. While Ernst & Young considers anyone who can originate and sustain a business to be a winner, there is only one trophy awarded in each category, with award recipients selected by an independent judging panel. The categories for the 1999 Inland Empire and Las Vegas Awards program included Emerging Industrial, Technology, Communications, Services, Supporter of Entrepreneurs, Manufacturing, Consumer Products, Retail, Distribution and Corporate Entrepreneur. Our strive and perfection both internally and externally proudly earned Southwest Traders, Inc. the Ernst & Young 1999 Entrepreneur of the Year award for the distribution industry. The award recipients become lifetime members of The Entrepreneur of the Year Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame, in conjunction with the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, conducts surveys of its members that are used as a basis for trend analysis, forecasting and understanding entrepreneurs and their companies. Today, EOY has been expanded to more than 125 cities in over 40 countries, with awards presented to over 900 of the world’s most successful and innovative entrepreneurs. There are currently more than 5,500 members.
